Luke Morrison is one of Canada’s most acclaimed young DJs. Labeled “The Master Editor” by none other than Pete Tong, Luke routinely picks out tracks well ahead of the pack, and is building a solid reputation based on his personal edits which customize every one of his sets.
His re-edits have been featured several times on Tong’s world famous Essential Selection show on the BBC, and his mixes have been featured on Proton Radio, Mercuryserver, bringthebeats and Eccentric Beats, drawing critical acclaim from dance music fans all over the globe.
Luke has helped establish his hometown of Edmonton as one of North America’s most thriving House music scenes. He’s become a local legend with his lengthy sets at Y Afterhours, The Bank and HALO and his established radio show (Connected Fridays live on 91.7FM). Luke has also proven his ability to open up and play alongside some of the world best, including Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Carl Cox, Nick Warren, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo.
Being on the promo material mailing lists of several of the world’s elite producers and record labels, Luke’s sets are always packed with upfront and unreleased tunes. While some DJs are content with playing a single style, Luke has developed the unique ability to build from warm, Deep House to pounding, twisted House pressure.
He truly knows how to work a room from the early hours of the night to peak time center-stage. Luke’s honest love for music is displayed when he is behind the decks; he’s the type of DJ who is able to make the party go off at will.
